It is a four-year private university located in Jurye-dong, Sasang-gu, Busan.
It is an East-West engineering university under Dongseo Academy, a school corporation established in 1970, and after opening in 1992 (4), it was changed to the current school name in 1996, and at the same time, it has grown into a general university with 7 universities, 3 affiliates, and 2 faculties. The school celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2022.
Currently, a total of 78 departments, 32 humanities and social sciences, 7 natural sciences, 22 arts and sports, and 17 engineering departments are in operation.
In 2024, it was selected as the largest government-funded project ever, the Glocal University 30 project. It was selected as a combined model with Dong-A University and will receive 100 billion won over the next five years.
